idea: New item for medics: Tourniquets that can be issued

Post by Junior » Fri Jun 03, 2011 2:59 pm

A proposal for another item idea:

Let the medics be given five (5) tourniquets, which they can then hand out to other soldiers
(each soldier can carry one).

The tourniquet can be applied to a bleeding soldier, or to one's self.

The tourniquet does not heal damage, but it stops bleeding.

-------
Separate idea -

I would also make a suggestion that if any bleeding soldier does not move for 45 seconds, that there be a 50% chance that the bleeding will spontaneously stop itself.

That would be practically useless and pointless.

No one runs with a tourniquet, and gunshot wounds dont stop bleeding if you dont address em. Also, how often to you play the medic class that you want all this crazy crap for em?

No one in real life runs and fights with 90% or more of their health shot away, yet here we are. What I'm suggesting is appropriate in the context of the current world rules of DDay. [Did I mention a single syringe dose can instantly bring you back to full fighting health (unless you're the medic trying to heal yourself)].

Sometimes gunshot wounds do stop themselves. A motionless soldier can be assumed to spend that time applying pressure to the wound, and/or ripping part of his shirt and tying it
around the bleeding limb.

I think that the medic class should be made more playable, that's the issue I'm trying to address.

Its perfectly fine the way it is....now instead of making asinine suggestions every week asking for someone (fafner) to add em in, maybe you should just appreciate all the work he and others have done over the past decade. As it is, many things hes coded dont get played or appreciated. Give it a rest and either appreciate what you have, or learn code yourself. Maybe not even code itself, but contribute something other than just the idea. No one is getting paid here its all on someone's free time.

I'm all for people suggesting things. I'm just not going to take time to add gimmicky stuff that doesn't improve the game.

I suggest a barbecue unit so the other units at least have something delicious to eat.

Is there a way to Ignore someone, because I'd really like to block Mofo from my screen, and he can do the same for me.

I quite enjoy the medic class as it is. Pistol coupled with being able to move quite quickly make for a fun experience.
