I could make a tripod with less round legs, but that would defeat the purpose of having high(er) poly models :(

*ZING*
Something came to mind. MD3's can be combined. You can mix 3 models into 1! (or 4! gun + box + tripod + hands)

You can use tags to put them together :)

You said you were working on bullets.
1 bullet in my box is 115 tris
Image
That's a pretty detailed bullet for an engine like Q2 meets Q3.
I once made bullets for the Carcano. Perhaps these screenshots can be helpful (often the tris are in the screenshot)

The top 3 are 'linked' and use less tris than the 3 below because some of the faces missing because of the linking.
Image

These are square bullets in a casing, 180 tris for 6 bullets and it's casing isn't much
Image

These show 4 different types of cylinders
Image

As you can see here, the top 3 are still as round as the bottom 3 but they use far less tris than the bottom ones.
You probably won't even see the difference if the skin is right

All you had to do was ask, Faf..
Mosin is next.

Mofo: that ammo is for regular DDay and MD2 not for DDay+ and MD3

Don't forget to leave the opening for when the drum is removed from the ppsh. (As I did  )

And make the rifle with the scope. Then you just have to delete it for the infantry version.

LMAO I forgot
But it's a quick fix :)

edit: wait lol; aint no quick fix :p
there is but it adds an immense ammount of faces :compress:

Image

I snapped and welded everything together. They are still groups but they are 1 mesh. The only seperate parts are the trigger (and it's protector) and the sights on the barrel :) and of course the ammo drum

edit:
Did the quick fix and it's 1657 tris, there are plenty of unneccesary triangles :p (1327 without the gap)
I'll remake that part sometime this week :)

(place in /dday folder. Must use EGL.)
ok. Here's a early version of the m1919 Browning hmg. It still needs a tripod, skin tweaked, animations tweaked, polygon count optimization.
Let me know what you think of the idle position. I think it needs to be lowered a bit, still.

Ok guys I kinda gave up on modeling cause it was way to hard, I tried and tried over again but I never got anywhere, but I might try one last time.
So, I was wondering if there is a downloadable version that has all the new weapons done so far? cause I still got all the original stuff...

FYI, the models are finished but they are not animated...
Some of them aren't unwrapped as well :)

Are you going to do that?
If you show me a finished pallet, I'll post the files :)

Well, I did post them more than a year after the latest post AND it's just the model files, not animated and most not skinned. Who will bother? Exactly. :)

I've got a lot going on and losing interest is only human..
