Tamerlane revenge on the Soviets?

Post by Mr. YOur no fun »

I came across a little interesting tid bit today. Tamelane (Timor the Lame - named because he was shot in the leg while stealing sheep as a teen) was the last of the Mongol leaders, good at destruction and war, so good that when he destroyed the aqueducts of Afghanistan the still have not recovered. When he died he unlike most Mongol leaders had a lush palatial tomb built and left the word that if anyone ever disturbed his body a travesty far worse than any he delivered would fall upon those who disturbed him.

On June 22, 1941 Soviet archeologist found and opened his tomb.

Anyone recognize that date?

June 22
1941 – Germany invades the Soviet Union in Operation Barbarossa. Russian The 22 June song is devoted to this day.
1941 – First anti-fascist armed unit in occupied Europe is founded by Croatian partisans near Sisak, Croatia.
1941 – The June Uprising in Lithuania begins.
1941 – Various Communist and Socialist French Resistance movements merge to one group.

Not that I remember it …Google told me lol

I think the invasion of the Soviet Union is the one I was referring to, though Tamelane may be taking revenge on my memory.
