Summer 2017 check in.

Post by Derwood » Sat Jun 10, 2017 4:50 am

Welp. Turned 40 in March.

Third son is on the way. Due mid August. We got an ultrasound to determine gender.

My business is going well. Mostly have other businesses as clients but will do the odd residential job.

Honestly think I'm in better shape than I was at 20.

How's everybody doing?

No kids for me either... but bloody 58 this year! Crikey, where's that gone.

I am also now back a Company that I first worked at 32 years ago: P.A. - doing the same job, but the description has changed... it was Quality Inspector, now Quality Technician.

Oh yes. Plus I get to play with Hexagon's PC-DMIS software on a Romer Arm (with a laser scanner) and a £250,000 CMM machine and M3 software on a Vision Hawk Duo.

Amazing how all those years ago using Quark and Quake2 mapping tools and coding (plus blender) comes in real handy 18 years later. PC-DMIS is supposed to be hard to learn, but I sussed it out in a couple of weeks.

I am also a pensioner now, cashing in 3 of my pensions at 55 which pay the bills each month.

hi there, a bit late to the party. I'm turning 30 next Spring, working as an iOS developer in Boston. Probably quitting soon to work on a startup venture though. Good to still see people active on here!

Well,

Fall 2017 check in.

I banged that date out on my third son to a T! He was certainly born mid august. August 15th to be exact. Glad to hear you are all doing well. We're not having any more kids either. The missus got tied up after the last delivery (hehe). So no more baby carriages for us (or prams, Nick.. lol). I worked 6 weeks straight this summer with the first day off when my son was born. My how things have changed since we started playing dday. I think a 20 year reunion is in order in 2019.

Well it's almost spring of 2018.

I can't believe how time flies. DDAY was my first ever online community. I hope this site never goes down. I have to thank Fafner for keeping it alive.

Holy shit I am still alive too. I'm only a year late on this post. I'm 31. Married. No kids. Don't want any of those. Municipal job as a paramedic for the past 8 years. Not as much gaming as I used to, but these days I only play GPS 4 - Power & Revolution on my laptop, and mobile gaming on ipad/iphone. Hope all is well with everyone. Is 1RB still the best d-day clan or have we been beaten yet haha :)

touche!

17 years!

You should hop on the Dev server sometimes and show what you're made of! Sometimes you can get 3,4 or more people playing at once if you're lucky :D
