Invisible faces

Post by Boons »

Hey - I am having this problem when I test out my map.. I have about 6 variations of housing for my map with which I change height and textures around to make them seem different. I have been using duplicate and/or copy and paste to make this process easy...

What is happening is from compile to compile certain faces will be invisible, and it switches around. Does anyone know what causes this so it can be avoided? is it just the compiler we are using for q3 maps sucks?

I tried to use google to find an answer.. but I really can not.

The strange part is on some faces only part of it will be invisible.. one example is a wall which is all one poly has one single face that has an invisible triangle only on that part... Do not know what is going on.. and I can not really think of a good way to fix it other then replacing the screwed up polys with new ones.. which would be tedious as I have about 100 houses/business on the map :s...

Anyways any tips/suggestions would be great!

I have also noticed the real problems seem to steam from rotating the housing using the X Y Z functions to do so...

Is that a nono in quark?
