Please let me know if you get files and sounds unavailable for download. There seems to be some mismatch between filenames and cases. Linux, where the server is at, is case sensitive so ThisSound.wav is different from thissound.wav.

Please send me a condump or section where it refuses to download and I will see what I can do to correct it, thanks!
every other map im dl new sounds for maps ive played a million times.

I added a few sounds to the game for:
weapon dropping
ammo dropping
& dead body falling

And there's the campaign files.

The maplist thing is fixed now, it's something with the campaign mode that I'll look into.

I think the downloading problems happen when you try to download a sound that the server doesn't have, like certain shouts.

4threich.ddaynormandy.com/all-dday-textures-from-dirk.tar.bz2

This is causing way too much lag. I will investigate later.

EDIT: Link back now.

there is megaupload, rapidshare, etc ...

or you could setup a torrent ;)

I can also host this file (and others also) on dday.cl but I need to download it first :)

Were you using a fast downloader? It slammed the box and caused lag spikes.

R1q2 supports http dowloading for clients with protocol 35(r1gl, egl-r1, aprq2)
Much faster downloading. I think you have to enable server side.

What we really need is a dedicated update server and frontends that have automatic updating. Do that and dday is saved.

I have http enabled for r1q2, but the problem is that someone decided to download the large file with a fast downloader and slammed my server.

This is highly experimental. But here's a murmur voice server running at the below url.

v.4threich.ddaynormandy.com

Get your client here: http://mumble.sourceforge.net/

Why did I not choose ventrillo? No Linux client support.

Why not use TeamSpeak? It's not free/open source.

Ping Shming.....try playing with a 224 ping constantly on foolnet...and i think there are other problems as well for you and the other is you can't act like a complete tard at dirks like ya do at CN,it's not non stop dday1-5,the maps are harder the dll is better the players have skill....ya i can see why you wouldnt wanna play there, you might actually have to play with some knowledge of the game....better stick too CN.

+1

I am in 100 % agreed that if they play more with a well brought up ping (as on Dirk) and on another waiter in the less well brought up ping I should play better thanks to the knowledge of game and its ping.

But I find that you go a bit quickly by saying to this, while for instance you and as of other one, play in dday on server full since for a long time.
While me I play it only since the even not 6 months.

Note: you understand what I say (English)?
