Resist Walkthrough

Post by Fafner »

Afrow UK released the map "Point of Axis Resistance" (resist.bsp) last year. It's a great map and very complex. So complex that no one seemed to knew how to complete it. Well, the violator figured it out and recorded a demo of how to get all the objectives on the map. Here's the video:

If you want to watch the demo in the game instead, the dm2 file is in this thread:

If you want to download the map, it's here:

Thanks Fafner... now hopefully we'll have more serious games on this map instead of people getting confused and lost :)

Ender noticed that Afrow's download was missing a few sounds, specifically:

sound/world/fan1.wav
sound/world/turbine1.wav
sound/world/lite_out.wav
sound/world/amb13.wav
sound/world/amb21.wav
sound/world/l_hum1.wav
sound/world/tele1.wav

We figured out that these are actually original Quake 2 sounds that Afrow used, so we copied them over from our baseq2/pak0.pak files.

I created a zip file with the missing sounds for everyone else:

http://sites.google.com/site/thetest919 ... sounds.zip

Just unzip to your dday directory.

EDIT: I F'd up the first zip file, so please re-download.

Thanks for that. Think I might have to install D-Day again!
Yeh I didn't put the Quake 2 sounds in probably due to copyright reasons... then again I did put in the Quake 2 textures that would otherwise have been missing :S

You should definitely play again Stu. We've been playing resist the last couple nights with 4-5 people and it's a TON of fun, but I'd really like to play with more people, around 8-10.

Those of us that've been playing are learning our way around the map better and better :D

I made an installer recently if you want to play again

And for the people on Dirk's server, the squishing for no reason shouldn't happen any more since I set the damage to 0 on it, it should work fine now.
