High Resolution Maps
UPDATE 8-17-2020
In the past there were several posts about the maps I made with HiRez Textures, the introductory one and the updates. But I have come back here in 2020 to simplify things as there won't be any updates after this. I will include the link to zipped folder on Dropbox further down but first read through this before you go further so nothing gets screwed up on you computer.
Included in the zip from Dropbox there are three settings.txt files which are very important. Wheaty's Launcher (for home play) reads these settings.txt files and sets the game bots and has the map list that Wheaty's follows for the order of the maps. You rename the three text files to settings.txt BUT !!! before you do this rename the original settings.txt to something else, like settingsoriginal.txt because the original one sets the standard dday game play AND IF YOU WANT TO MAINTAIN THE ORIGINAL DDAY SETTINGS FOR LATER MAKE A COPY OF IT AND RENAME IT SHOULD YOU WANT TO RESTORE THE ORIGINAL SETTINGS LATER. The three settings files have various stages of the map list as I developed the maps.
FOR MANY OF THE MAPS THERE ARE MULTIPLE VARIATIONS!!!
You can adjust this map list, and the number of bots, through the settings button on Wheaty's game launcher. Go down near the bottom and you will see a section for setting bots and the map list. If you want to replace one variation with another simply replace the one included with you new choice and then save the settings. Then relaunch the game.
The reason for the variations is as I worked with the maps I liked one idea but thought another would also be fun. Rather than destroying one for the other I left both for you to choose the one you like.
To tell these maps apart from the the original maps you will see the title of the map has the letters bh in them (for Bots, HiRez Textures), and then maybe a variation number.
As to where to extract the files to it is in the Dday Normandy folder and should spread the files in the download to the right subfolders.
The main reason for the size of the download is the HiRez Textures included. The textures are large and I included all the textures I converted not just the ones used in the maps. This way should anyone want to make a map with HiRez textures there are many to choose from included. They are in the texture folder and then in the sub folder hires and then within that are many subfolders with the few thousand textures to choose from.

Ok here are images from the maps in the order they come in. These maps are in a historical order. The images are reduced to 25% and lower resolution so they look better in game.
Fort Capuzzo - UK troops have to break into the fort and find and destroy the ammo crates. Italians shoot people.

Tobruk - Italians have to blow a hole in the minefield and barb wire, then touch the UK flag. The UK just shoots people.

This is my adaptation of a map called Frozen that i changed so the bots worked better and then retextured. Both sides just shoot each other.

Milnebay - an early engagement between Australian and Japanese troops. Australia shoots Japanese, the Japanese can shoot Australian troops or touch the Australian flag.

GB1stnight - UK blasts gates to fort open destroy a series of targets or kill enough Germans. Germans just shoot UK troops.

Pathfinder - US troops in the middle of a German camp. US kills Germans or destroys a series of targets. Germans just shoot Americans.

My old Day of Days beach landing map redone for bots and retextured. US destroy 6 bunkers. Kills don't matter. Germans shoot Americans.

GB1stday - UK sea invasion against the Germans. Blast holes in the seawall then blow up the central bunker (can be done shooting rockets into the bunker) and then four ammo boxes that blow up four buildings. Killing Germans does no good. Germans just shoot UK troops.
