Hey will there be maps for the japanesis? (-.-)
You could make Pearl Harbor map; in BattleField 1942 there is the Wake Island where the japanese lift off or go by boat (or even swimming) from an aircraftcarrier and have to capture most of spots marked with flags. Would be fun even if the way to go to Island would be made by a teleport.

Is it even possible to make a q2 map that's a piece of large terrain surrounded by water? I don't think I've ever seen one.

It may be possible, if you create like a hedge solid treeline that surrounds the island and divide up the areas.

A long time ago (when i was a newbie mapper) me and some people discussed about it i wanted to do pearl harbour but no...
now if you want jappanesse maps make 1 and then we deside if it will be or not on campaing.

A pearl harbor map wouldnt play too well, considering there was no actual fighting.

The current maps we have now are of the highest quality and will totally blow you away, so there is no further need for suggestion, lest you make your own maps.
