Re: The missing D-Day comics

Hey, Afrow!

I still have that modem - it was 56k. If I remember, I sent it to you via snail mail, and then when you got ADSL you sent me it back. Geez, people today do not realise what shitty internet we had back then when playing. Young people are ruined now.

Photo of it to follow :)

Re: The missing D-Day comics

Mac! Hope you are doing well. I have a lot of crap on old hard drives, so I need to get off my arse and start looking at what is on them (when I ditched all the old computers, I kept the drives). I have found this though... geez, 9 years ago! Where's the time gone? Slick must be about 25 by now :D h...

The missing D-Day comics

Hello all, {me waves to Afrow and Fafner} Hope you are all doing well. As I am now getting near the 'dodgy' end of life (53 years old now!) I am trying to put on line as much 'history' of everything I was involved in. A lot of the code is around, but here are EON_MagicMan's comics to start with. htt...

A bit of history...

... for a few n00bs that are here now.

Once upon a time, EON_MagicMan done some DDAY cartoons. I put them all into a pdf (932Kb):

http://www.nick.ukfsn.org/other/ddaycomics.pdf

Dated around august 2002 when I converted the *.bmp[s] to one PDF document.

What everybody has to remember is Wiki is _not_ history or fact.

It's just a load of fat kids that post things. OK, sometimes it bears out to real fact/history, but if if doesn't ~ wobetold the person that attempts to correct it.

Travis Pastrana at the Xgames

First a bit of history; Travis Pastrana was the first 'idiot' to perform a backward somersault on a bike jump. He was the first to do two backward somersaults after a lot of testing/trial~error on a test pit ( http://www.break.com/index/attempting_a_double_backflip.html) It was so hard/dangerous, th...

God, what a mess.

All I can say is it never crashed once we sorted the GBR out.

Trouble is, I dunno what files or what is now 'current' - I forget ;-)

I added a few Aircraft screen shots from when Faf done the code and we got them going.

I have shit time with Wiki, though. They always remove what I put up (even sometimes when I correct a mistake).

That spitfire model is amazing... the time it must take.

Anyway, here is one I prepared earlier - the original dday Spitfire model I done for the GBR team (is it still used?):

And of course, from where it all started: http://www.nw.uklinux.net/dday/serverstats/ Once upon a time, Cpt. Millar posted in the old original dday forums a link to aestats. I tried that, but it didn't work right for dday. So I coded my own perl script to do it... I believe Afrow then took the basis...

OK, here we go:

Add this to your q2admin.txt file and restart server:

Code: Select all

; Nick - allow clients to see server command outputs (a R1CH thing)
rcon_insecure "1"

OK, I have found what is causing this - you are using R1CHs' updated q2admin, yes?

Well, it something he has done. I am looking at what he is doing and will fix it.

I had this years ago when I first started running a dday server and fixed it - but buggered if I can remember what I done?

I am looking now through all the old stuff.

Flyer sent me the lrconfile - I have one suggestion to make where it could be wrong (I PM'ed him 2 days ago and mailed him yesterday) You have spaces between the regex and the password... that may bugger up the EX: regex (EX: == exact, so the leading space may be causing the EXACT match to fail = he...
